Church Repair and Reorder May 2016

19th May 2016

BBA has started work on the proposed repairs and re-ordering to a much loved medieval church in North Yorkshire.

St Wilfrid’s Church, Langton on Swale, is listed Grade II and has a C12th Nave and C13th Chancel, with C19th Vestry and Porch additions. It is in a charming rural setting in the parishes of Great Langton and Little Langton.

The PCC has received initial support for the restoration project through the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Grants for Places of Worship (GPoW) scheme, and this support from National Lottery players provides a great opportunity to rescue the historic fabric at this much loved medieval church.

The proposed fabric repairs are very timely and along with a disabled WC and servery, these enhanced facilities will not only provide comfort and well-being to those who use the church but also those who come to experience the peace and tranquillity of this ancient building.
