David Beaumont Membership of Durham Diocese DAC July 2013

2nd July 2013

The Diocese of Durham has advised that David Beaumont RIBA AABC, partner at Beaumont Brown Architects, Castle Eden, has been appointed to the membership of the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches (DAC).

His role, alongside other DAC members of differing specialisms, will be to provide advice on the repair, planning and design of churches, their use and care.

On hearing the news David said,

‘The chance to serve on the DAC is not only a wonderful opportunity to share in its objectives of providing guidance to churches but also it offers me the chance to give something back to a community whose ideals are to be supported.’

The image alongside is from within the Great Hall at Auckland Castle where the DAC offices are located. The picture shows Bishop Cosin’s 1663 Screen and panelled ceiling with Cosin’s fret- his diamond shaped design mark.
