BBA to carry out building inspection of Guisborough Town Hall. December 2012

12th December 2012

We’ve been undertaking conservation work to the Grade II Listed Sunnyfield House, Guisborough for a number of years. It’s the home of the Town Council and also provides rooms for community use.

It was built in 1780 as a private residence, became a parsonage in the mid C19 and then in 1902, a doctor’s residence and practice for over 50 years. It became council property in 1974.

As part of Guisborough Town Council’s commitment to its stewardship of historic buildings, it has asked Beaumont Brown Architects to carry out a QI - that’s a five yearly (quinquennial) inspection of the building. After the inspection we issue a report and this advises what’s urgent to repair or can be done in the future. This enables the Council to budget for repairs over the five years and continue their commitment to the upkeep of this special Georgian building.
