Staff and pupils at Midland Road Nursery and Children’s Centre in Manningham, Bradford had a pleasant surprise on their return for the start of the new academic year this September.

The annual six week break was used to its full extent to refurbish the existing classrooms, main entrance and corridors; the works being delivered on programme and within a strict budget.

The original Victorian classrooms have been completely transformed and now provide up-to date, vibrant teaching spaces with new wall and floor finishes, lighting, power / data facilities and work stations with child-friendly fittings.

Lowered acoustic control feature ceilings have been introduced and the original dado boarding and surface mounted electrical installation concealed behind new flush walls with child height pinboards.

The commission came about following a visit by the Headteacher of Midland Road Nursery to the practice’s award-winning scheme in Wingate, Co Durham.
