Sunderland Minster November

25th November 2011

We have been given a once in a lifetime opportunity to undertake major work at the Minster Church of St Michael and All Angels at Sunderland.

This regionally important grade II* church with mediaeval chancel and wonderful interwar reconstruction by WD Caroe, is having its bells renewed. The scheme is to increase the peal from eight to ten, in a new purpose made frame which will bring thirteen and a half tons to bear on the tower.

Along with associated works the new installation will provide improved ringing facilities and will enable the bells to be rung out for generations to come.
